The difference

Standard crutches vs In-Motion.

Standard rigid crutches

  • Every step’s impact goes straight into your hands, wrists, and shoulders
  • Rigid post, no shock absorption
  • Often rated to only 250–300 lb
  • Generic fit, limited height range

In-Motion spring-loaded

  • Spring-loaded base absorbs impact and rebounds with every step
  • Contoured grips and articulating tips that stay flat on any surface
  • Rated to 350 lb
  • Short and tall models with 11–15 positions for an exact fit

Why In-Motion

The spring is the difference.

Standard crutches send every step straight into your body. In-Motion’s spring-loaded, shock-absorbing crutches don’t: the base compresses and rebounds so it takes the impact instead of your hands, wrists, and shoulders.

Shock-absorbing base

The spring-loaded base compresses with each step and rebounds, cutting the jarring impact standard crutches send through your body.

Less strain, less fatigue

By softening impact, In-Motion crutches are designed to ease strain on wrists, hands, and underarms, through recovery and everyday use alike.

Built to move with you

Lightweight aluminum, easy adjustment, and a natural stride designed for real life, not just the hallway.

A well designed and well-made product. The In-Motion Pro Underarm crutches should be used by anyone who will have to use crutches for an extended amount of time. I have used them since 1995.

I received these back in September of 2024 and have been using them ever since. I've been on crutches since 2014 and finding a good pair of crutches that doesn't absolutely hammer your shoulders is hard, until I found these! The spring assist posts are a game changer when it comes to cushioning the blow that your underarms and shoulders take. I am also 260lbs, so finding a good set that'll handle that weight is also hard, and these surpass that significantly. I don't feel like these are about to break at any time unlike the standard pairs you get from drug stores, Walmart or other local stores. I had used the Care-X folding crutches for a while and those were "OKAY" at best, got about 3 months out of them before they started squeaking and making all sorts of noise. Lol. Either way, if you're like me and are looking for a set of crutches that'll make you feel more secure, stable and more mobile, these In-Motion Pro crutches are the ones to get! Thank you to Clint and the entire team at Millennial Medical for everything they've done for me and other customers!

The best ever and I’ve used crutches since 1959!

I just wanted to share how much I appreciate these crutches. I honestly haven't come across any crutch in terms of price and features that come close to this one. There were a few hiccups with the brand a few years back, but since the new management took over, the improvements have been impressive. I can't think of any aspect where this product hasn't gotten better. It's the reason I've been a fan for 13 years now. I use crutches full-time, and this brand has truly been a lifesaver, especially from an ergonomic and joint perspective. Keep up the fantastic work!

Hello. I’ve been on crutches for 45 years and I’m rough on crutches I’m very active. I had doubts about the spring lasting very long and I was very surprised. They lasted a lot longer than expected. A good year or so if I use them all the time. Being on crutches so long I’ve had a couple shoulder surgeries an torn ligaments. The springed crutches makes it a lot easier on my shoulders an being as active as I am I’ve had to learn to alternate between these and my rigid crutches to get the maximum life out them an benefit my shoulder. Bottom line is there great crutches. And this is a great company and they stand by there warranty and are excellent to work with and hassle free on warranty’s there way beyond 5 stars ? in my book. If you are concerning buy a pair. Stop ? right there and buy them !!!! U will be very pleased.

Questions, answered

Everything you need before you order.

Should I get underarm or forearm crutches?

Underarm crutches give the most support and are the classic choice for shorter-term recovery, carrying weight through the underarm cradle and hand grips. Forearm crutches are lighter and cuffed for a natural, active stride and long-term daily use. Both use the same spring-loaded shock absorption and adjust to fit.

What size do I need, and what heights do they fit?

Both models come in short and tall. In-Motion forearm crutches fit about 4’2″–6’8″; underarm fit about 4’8″–7’1″, each with many height positions plus independent handle and cuff adjustment. Check the sizing chart on our store before you order.

How much weight do they hold?

The In-Motion Pro underarm and forearm crutches are rated to 350 lb.

How does the spring actually help?

A spring-loaded post in the base compresses with each step and rebounds, absorbing impact that a rigid crutch would otherwise send straight into your hands, wrists, and shoulders.

What does a pair cost, and is shipping free?

In-Motion crutches are $139 a pair, the same price for short or tall, with free shipping on orders over $99 in the contiguous US. New customers: 10% off your first order.

What are the returns and warranty?

The store offers a 30-day return policy on orders placed direct, and every pair carries a 1-year limited warranty (the articulating tips, a wear item, carry a 60-day warranty). Returns are handled by Millennial Medical.

Are these HSA or FSA eligible?

Yes. In-Motion crutches are HSA/FSA eligible, so you can purchase with pre-tax healthcare dollars.

Can I use insurance or Medicare?

They may be reimbursable depending on your plan (forearm crutches bill under HCPCS code E0110). Coverage varies, so check with your provider. Millennial Medical has coverage resources for VA, Medicare, and workers’ comp on their store.
